Guardianship

The purpose of a guardianship is to appoint a guardian to make decisions for someone who is under 18 years of age or who is incapacitated and unable to make decisions for themselves.

In Pennsylvania under the Standby Guardianship Act a parent may designate a guardian to care for their child in the event that they become incapable or die.

At Schmitt & Coletta we can help you draw up a guardianship, file the necessary forms as well as guide you through the process for activating a guardianship.
